Independence Play returns

Registrations are now officially open for Independence PLAY, the area of PLAY - The Games Festival dedicated to emerging designers and their board game and role-playing game prototypes.

Independence PLAY is a space designed to help game ideas grow: lots of tables, lots of players, and lots of feedback!
A dedicated area where you can test prototypes, refine rules, and put your games to the test in front of an audience always hungry for new ideas.
The space is provided free of charge to all designers who have the courage to… put themselves into play!

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

What visibility will I get?

Your game will be included in the official public calendar:

This calendar is integrated into the PLAY program. In addition, your game will be clearly signposted within the fair area and at the dedicated table.
The Independence PLAY stand is a dedicated and highly visible area inside the PLAY halls, both in the Board Game and Role-Playing Game sections.

How much space is available?

Board games: one dedicated table for each designer, for the entire selected day (or days).

Role-playing games: one dedicated table for each designer. The on-site RPG desk manages demo schedules and informs the public about available sessions.

Is the area free?

Yes. There are no participation fees; only a PLAY entry ticket is required for the selected days.

Can I sell my game at the table?

No. Independence PLAY is exclusively dedicated to non-commercial prototypes, and to projects that will not be the subject of crowdfunding within 9 months of the PLAY dates.
